Margaret H. Terhune, MD
Dr. Margaret Terhune was born and raised in New Hampshire. She graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in biochemistry. She attended Harvard Medical School and completed her internship and dermatology residency at the University of Michigan. During her final year of residency, she served as Chief Resident. She has been board certified by the American Board of Dermatology since 1993, and is a fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Terhune practiced in Lexington, KY at the University of KY and in a private practice for 14 years prior to relocating to Richmond. In 2010, she moved with her family to Richmond and joined Richmond Dermatology & Laser Specialists where she has continued her full-time practice of general dermatology. She prides herself on the relationships she develops with patients and their families and her attentiveness to the needs of individual patients.
While Dr. Terhune evaluates all diseases of the skin, hair, and nails in adults and children, her particular interests are in the prevention, detection and treatment of skin cancers and melanoma, hair loss, acne, psoriasis, eczema, diseases of the nails and hair, and cosmetic dermatology. Within cosmetic dermatology, she offers Botox/Dysport and sclerotherapy.
Dr. Terhune is married with two adult children and lives in Midlothian, VA with her husband. Her husband is a retired neurologist and researcher from the McGuire VA Medical Center. She enjoys many activities in her spare time including jewelry-making, knitting, gardening, exercising, and volunteering at the Richmond Animal League.
